Eleanor Benton has lived most of her life under the protective watch of her widowed father. A tragic, life-altering event robbed her of the person she could have been. When she is brought to stay with her relatives on a horse ranch in Montana, she meets a man who reaches out to her in ways no one else has ever done.
Lance Taggart prefers being a drifter and doesn’t believe in putting down roots. Together with his canine companion, he finds solace in keeping his distance from those who cannot see past his mixed-blood heritage. When his boss' quiet, auburn-haired niece arrives at the ranch, his priorities are about to change.
Facing the daily misunderstandings and harsh realities of an often cruel, close-minded society, Lance and Ellie fight to overcome what others perceive as barriers. Will their love be strong enough to withstand the truth that links their pasts in a way they never imagined?

Peggy is my favorite author and has been since I started reading her books. From the title I wasn't sure how this story would fit into the other blemished brides books but this one excelled just as the others. I won't spoil the story by telling you, but this was a very special story. The characters are always so well developed that I feel that I know them-and I soooo love that the author included characters from her past books-I really enjoy meeting up with them again and I think it is one of the reasons I love her books so much.
Of course my intentions last night were to read a little and then finish it up the next day-wrong-lol her books for me are always a must read to the end as I can never put them down.
Peggys books are so good that I always go back and re read them again-and again Highly recommend
Another excellent book by Peggy thank you

In His Kiss Blemished Brides Book 4 edition by Peggy L Henderson Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I have loved every book that Peggy Henderson has written, but this is by far my favorite of the Blemished Bride series. I love the characters. Lance is one hot hero! Ellie is a amazing heroine! When they get together, my kindle just sizzles with excitement! I love meeting up with several people from the other books in the series.
Ellie has a disability, and therefore people around her brushed her off, figured she was stupid and didn't try to understand her. Lance is the first person that has tried to understand her and sees beyond the disability to the smart, funny, loving woman that she is. They immediately felt the pull towards each other, and Ellie's aunt Fiona is not happy with this. When problems arise, both Ellie and Lance put each other first without considering the personal repurcussions they may face. Their love was most important. I love the realistic way Peggy portrays how a half white/half native american would have been treated in this time period. I love the way characters from her other books show how Lance should be treated! What an example to others then, and now!
I can't even imagine how much research would have to go into this book to deal with Ellie's disability. Peggy's descriptions have to take this into account, and this could not have been easy. Ellie's disability could have made the book stilted and awkward, but it flows seamlessly! This is one of Peggy's greatest talents.... her research, her love for the characters, being able to descibe and draw us into the love and the setting as if we were there. This was an excellent book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading every word!
What a beautiful story! Once I started this book, it was very, very difficult to put down, and read late into the night! Lance and Ellie are such a sweet, and wonderful couple.
Tender, poignant, touching, amazing. This lovely story will pull at your heartstrings. I do not want to give too much away, because I do not want to ruin this for anyone...but suffice it to say, your heart will hurt for Ellie, and you will feel her despair, at the way people regard her...she has a challenge, that is not, at that time, understood well, at all. Lance, pretty much immediately, senses Ellie's plight. He understands her pain. He is such a strong, solid lead character. He is simply perfect for our heroine. Watching the story unfold as they discover their feelings for one another, and confront the obstacles in their path to happiness...well, it quite simply makes for a wonderful read!
IN HIS KISS is one of those books you put on the keeper shelf to take down and read again, and again to savor the beauty and the sweetness - Thank you, Peggy Henderson, for this powerful, and emotional story - I loved it!
Ellie and Lance both have difficult pasts that have stopped them from living full lives. It is when they are brought together that they find out how valuable and special they are to not only one another but also to those around them. This action packed, yet gentle story of love, trust, redemption and overcoming obstacles that others look down on is a great addition to the series!
Just when I thought Peggy had written one of her best a few months ago, she goes and writes another one! Peggy has an amazing talent of weaving characters from previous books into her current project and making you feel like they are not just cameos but full secondary characters! She not only brings the characters from this series into In His Kiss, but also from her Second Chance series and a stand alone novel Emma. You can easily read this book as a stand alone but the introduction of the other characters, but it will make you want their backstories as soon as you finish with this one! I have not read a hero as gentle and yet strong and very masculine as Lance in a very long time. It all goes together seamlessly in this latest addition to the Blemished Brides Series! Great job, Peggy!
The writing was okay but I had a hard time with Lance and Ellie declaring their love so quickly - less than a week. A lot was crunched into about a 2 month time frame. I found the repetition about her injury, the hand signals and his incredible ability to read the few hand signs she had in her repertoire (initially) took away from the story. There were 2 requisite bad guys that hated the half-breed and wanted to rape the girl. While I liked Lance and Ellie (and the secondary characters), it was difficult for me to get emotionally invested in them because of the rush rush hurry hurry into love felt so unrealistic to me.
